Environmental Coordinator : Gold Bar Project
Based out of Eureka Nevada for assignment to Gold Bar Project, and other projects.
Gathers and analyzes environmental data and administers environmental programs. Participates in assessment of programs, incident investigations and in research, development and implementation of environmental policies and procedures. Maintains records and prepares reports. This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher:level knowledge and skills. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment to determine an appropriate approach within general parameters and some guidance from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.
:Provides environmental consultation and serves as an environmental resource to staff. Interprets regulatory requirements and assists in the development and implementation procedures to ensure compliance and to manage impacts to environmental and operational activities. Prepares and presents environmental training topics to internal staff.
:Gathers, analyzes, documents and tracks environmental data. Analyzes trends and develops recommendations and/or solutions.
:Ensure site administrative compliance to all federal, provincial and local environmental regulatory, permit, license requirements, administration of environmental affairs of mining sites/plant, prepares moderately complex reports. Participates in developing communication materials.
:Assists with site assessments, inspections, audits and incident investigations. May assists in obtaining permits and in responding to complaints.
:Assists in researching and developing, maintaining, and implementing environmental policies and procedures at the site and support continuous improvement of internal standards.
:Responds to environmental emergencies by participating in clean up events and providing assistance to other departments as needed.
:Under guidance, may communicate with regulatory agencies as necessary. May also perform public outreach by giving presentations at schools, various civic events and for other interested groups.
:Conducts environmental field tests and report on results; performs work by traveling independently or with other staff to various, sometimes remote locations throughout Nevada

Minimum Qualifications:
:Bachelors degree(s) in environmental science, chemistry, geology, ecological management, conservation science, business, engineering, risk management or relevant field : or a combination of related education and experience
:5 or more years of experience in assessment, interpretation, implementation or administration of environmental regulations, programs or policies, including experience with preparing technical reports and communicating with regulatory agencies.
:Ability to conduct remote field testing which requires driving, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting, in high altitude mountainous ranges
:Excellent oral and written proficiency in English
:Advanced working knowledge of MS:Word, Excel, PowerPoint
:Mining industry experience preferred
:Class C Drivers license
