The Supply Chain Cateogory Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, continuous improvement and execution of Newmont North Americas category management strategy for Services. Has a key role to play in refining strategy, policies and guidelines to drive shared Supply Chain goals and objectives across the Region. Communicates the overall vision for management of services spend and builds strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Enhances Newmont North Americas overall sourcing capability for services through continuous improvement and development of the organization. Leads the team in identifying and capturing new enterprise spend areas to add value and drive cost savings on a TCO basis.
Essential Duties 13;
:Responsible for the development, implementation, continuous improvement and execution of Newmont North Americas category management strategy for Services; is accountable for adding value, cost savings, and other performance metrics.
:Workload is primarily focused on service contracts and purchasing for like categories including but not limited to; construction, engineering, maintenance and other service areas
:Interface with key internal stakeholders, ensuring effective visibility of the category management vision, and build and maintain strong working relationships. Ensure client satisfaction.
:Develop, recommend and implement programs to enhance working relationships and communication processes to ensure achievement of leading practice procurement objectives. Ensure teams share leading practices and lessons learned, use consistent methodologies, and pursue deliverables that are aligned with corporate strategic objectives.
:Oversee the rationalization and selection of suppliers to optimize Newmonts supply base; ensure strong working relationships with these suppliers are developed and maintained, and provide direction to monitor and continually improve suppliers performance via effective SRM. Review key agreements and contracts to protect and advance Newmonts interests.
:Lead and mobilize the team in identifying and capturing new regional spend areas where Supply Chain can add value and drive cost savings; aggressively track and improve non:compliance with preferred suppliers.
:Responsible for the implementation of policies to support local service companies. Accountable for the implementation of contracting plans in line with the Plan of Commitments and Social Responsibility strategy. Participate actively in promoting better relations with the community and local associations.
:Lead the implementation and training of staff on the changes in labor regulations, insurance, taxes, etc., in order to be reflected in contracts and in the field with the support of the operational areas.
:Responsible for the implementation and continuous monitoring of the service requirement plans in coordination with the operational areas.
:Develop skills and abilities of direct and indirect reports through ongoing performance measurement and feedback. Provide career guidance and act as a champion and mentor for all resources in the supply chain organization.

Training and Experience 13;
:Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
