Here is your opportunity to utilize your HR and Customer Service skills. Manage North American leaves to include Disability programs, Paid Family Leave, FML, Military, PTO bank adjustments, Long Term Disability, etc. and Nevada Drug Certification Program ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness based on plan documents and legal standards.

Essential Duties 13;
:
Manage and complete the processing of all disability leaves for the hourly North American employees. Complete and manage the FML process, ensuring legal compliance. Complete and manage the Paid Family Leave for applicable hourly employees.
:
Interact with employees on leave in a professional manner while complying with legal requirements. Processes all required legal and plan communication requirements.
:
Recognize the potential for significant precedents and refer these issues to appropriate management.
:
Provide backup to the management of D and A program and Drug Certification program. This includes immediately having employees removed from property when a Drug Certification form is received that is incomplete or indicates an employee is not safe to work, advise as to how employee is to be paid during absence and advise management when employee is safe to return to work. Responsible for data base which is critical to tracking Drug Certification forms. Works with HSLP to make updates to D and A policy. Responsible for updating and Drug Certification Administration documents and administering and managing program as outlined in the document. Prepares D and A testing matrix for SRVP and NALT on a quarterly basis. Works closely with MRO on on:site positive and follow up confirmation testing results, responsible for working with managers regarding outcomes as well as advising how employees are to be paid during these absences.

Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable US laws and regulations and consult and advise Newmont North American management on matters pertaining to leaves

Actions must reflect continual awareness and compliance with applicable laws and Newmont Plans
:
Provide backup to Salaried Disability and workers compensation functions. Knowledge of both programs will be required

Training and Experience 13;
:
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar and three (3) years of previous experience OR six (6) years equivalent combination of education and related experience.
:
Thorough understanding of business disciplines and the application of well:defined technique and procedures.
:
Thorough knowledge of ADA, FML, HIPPA, and other applicable laws.
:
Strong interpersonal relationship skills and problem solving skills are required.
:
Must have strong computer skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and strong organization skills.
:
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
:
Demonstrate a degree of creativity and latitude.
:

Working Conditions 13;
The position is located at the Elko Regional office. May be required to access areas of the mine site including but not limited to the process facilities, underground, and surface mining areas.
Position may be required to travel to and assist other domestic sites.
