Mine Manager : Production Open Pit Gold Mining
This is an immediate opportunity for an experienced Mine Manager to lead best in class mining efficiency and production techniques on a large project. Great salary, discretionary incentives, benefits and more
Based in Eureka Nevada for assignment to the Gold Bar project.
The Mine Manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for the overall management of mining projects, and ensures production targets are achieved. This is a critical role that oversees both owner and contractor mine operators, and ensures maximum efficiency of gold production through communications, technology, and leadership direction. Provides leadership and strategic decisions to improve or enhance production efficiency. This role also assists in staffing manager roles, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluates individual and collective project performance. Ensures the safety and health of mine workers. Provides manager guidance over activities in surface open pit mining, crushing operations, ADR plant and leach pad operations, and helps to establish budget requirements and operational targets. The Mine Manager facilitates dialogue with and between engineers, geologists, and operations managers to achieve production objectives. In addition, the Mine Manager:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with all safety, health and environmental policies and governmental regulations through Human Resources and the EH and S Managers, as well as ensures compliance activities are conducted (all inspection, measurements, monitoring, recording, record:keeping, reporting, and training)
Plans and coordinates the activities of operations to provide a sufficient and timely supply of economic ore feedstock and reserves
Plans, directs, co:ordinates and schedules contractor and employee activities of workers who extract and process minerals and ore using heavy equipment, drills, blasters, plant process machinery, and other workers in surface mining
Manages the raw material stockpiles. Maintains traceability of ore from mine to mill. Segregates different ores. Ensures procedures are adequate and followed consistently within economic standards
Develops and recommends changes in equipment, schedules, employee requirements, and training to insure the most efficient and productive mining and crushing operations possible
Works with the Process and Production
Managers/Supervisors to balance the mine production with the milling and screening demands of the production facilities
Coordinates the schedule of the mining and crushing operations with the Maintenance Department to provide the most effective maintenance and the least amount of downtime
Strives to improve the work force in the department by providing the training, the positive attitude, the safety awareness, the employee involvement, the flexibility, and the opportunity for growth through personal example, demonstration, group meetings, and classroom discussion
Develops short and long:term planning for operations, and modifies to meet current conditions
Consistently provides quality ore mixtures by working with laboratory data analysis and modifying the mining parameters, grades and stock piles for maximum gold extraction
Maintains good working relationships with all the agencies involved in operations such as MSHA and the State of Nevada, by dealing with inspectors in a positive, friendly, and professional manner
Keeps the General Manager fully informed on operations through daily communications, written reports, and analytics
Develops, designs, budgets, and follows through on all the capital improvements associated with the mining and crushing operations
Manages the technical aspects of the open pit mining such as mine mapping, modeling, and ore planning
