Bald Mountain is an open:pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource base located in Nevada. It is the newest mine in Kinross' portfolio and was acquired in January 2016.
Job Description 13;
Under the direction of a Survey Lead Person or Chief Surveyor, this person performs entry:level mine surveying tasks while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross values.
Job Responsibilities 13;
:Manages, on a limited basis, the following survey areas:
:Shot pattern layout
:Ore control layout and dig plans
:The mine coordinate system
:BMs GPS system
:Conventional total stations
:Conventional and laser levels
:Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
:Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
:Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
:Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
:Works without risk or harm to self and others.
:Punctuality and regular attendance required.
:Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
:Most importantly of all, works safely in a mining atmosphere. 13;
Education and Experience 13;
:Must have strong mathematical skills and a working knowledge of basic trigonometry and geometry.
:Must have the ability to keep and maintain accurate records, a computer background is helpful.
:This position requires extensive time in the production areas in all weather conditions.
:Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry 50 lbs. over blasted muck for several hours at a time.
:Must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
:This person should be a self:starter and able to work with minimum supervision.
:1+ years experience using Trimble GNSS, Robotic Total station and Trimble Access would be beneficial.
:Responsible to manage Kinross Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility.
:Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
:General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
:Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
:Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
:Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
:Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
:Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
:Requires valid drivers license. 13;
